My tomtom xl has a poor gps signal and is unusable, if anybody has any answers,I would be very grateful. Tomtom has had a few releases of 8. Is that likely to solve anything? Thank-you so much for your help so far. I have asked them to please reflect that in the website.

What next do you think? A side-effect of this? When you did the file delete on your unit, were you careful to delete only the loose files in the root - and NOT delete any of the folders in the root? Are you the publisher? Can someone clarify this for me? If you open the map you see the individual files and probably a folder brand.
